At ViaGen Pets, we know lots of people have questions about genetic preservation and cloning of their beloved dog or cat. So let’s meet the Anderson family and their pet, Buddy. Buddy is a smart, playful, 12 year old golden retriever. The Anderson’s consider Buddy to be an irreplaceable member of the family. As Buddy got older, the Anderson’s decided to preserve Buddy’s genes. Their vet performed a small tissue biopsy. A minor procedure for Buddy and sent the sample to ViaGen for genetic preservation. We cultured new living cells from the sample and then the cells were frozen for preservation, so the Andersons were comforted to know they had the option to clone their pet should they choose to do so.
Today, the Anderson’s decided to clone Buddy. To begin, we’ll take one of Buddy’s cells and replace the nucleus of a female dog’s egg. After treatment by our patented process, the egg and cell join together and the embryo starts to grow. Soon the embryo is transferred to a surrogate mother who after a typical gestation will give birth to Buddy II, buddy’s clone. None of Buddy’s genes were changed, so Buddy II is really like Buddy’s identical twin brother, just born at a later time. Buddy II will be as healthy as Buddy was as a puppy, and most likely will be smart, playful and look like Buddy as well. And with the Anderson’s love, he’ll grow and thrive. thank god i will be dead and gone before this becomes the norm, its not even buddy, buddy and his consciousness should either cease to exist when he dies, or move into the afterlife if it exists, he should not be cloned for some strange fucked up family of people who want to play god.

This sounds so sick!! You're CLONING FUCKING ANIMALS. LIVING CREATURES. YOURE STEALING A FEMALE DOGS EGGS AND MAKING THEM A DOG THAT HAS ALREADY EXISTED. AS SOON AS THAT PUPPY IS BORN, ITS GOING TO BE PULLED FROM ITS "MOTHER".
INSTEAD OF FUCKING CLONING YOUR ALREADY EXISTING DOG, CARE ABOUT YOUR FUCKING ORIGINAL DOG! YOU KNOW, THE ONE THAT WASNT BORN IN A *LAB*.

you know, instead of cloning already existing pets, go and adopt a dog or cat that could be euthanized if they don't get a home. You want to know why shelter animals get euthanized? Because there are already so many homeless animals in the USA alone, and none of those animals have clones of themselves because cloning is sick and impractical when there is an even better dog waiting at the shelter, one that wasn't created in a sickly matter like cloning.

Go and adopt a dog that has its own biological mother and father, one that hasn't ever felt a loving hand in their life instead of making a copy of a dog that has left and should have a good legacy.

Cloning is sick. And to think somewhere in my lifetime, human cloning may become a thing. This is fucked up. People that believe in cloning have no morals and no idea of what they're doing.

I'm fine with cloning, but, it'd be a million times easier and cheaper to just get another dog. It's not like a clone is the original anyway. Just fucking get over it, buddy's dead.

I'm impressed with the fact that cloning in animals has improved substantially and we're, as a society, to make a business out of it in providing some sort of solace in lost pets. But morally, I can't support this. What families would actually want to confuse their children with a cloned pets.

what a CLONE get a CUDDLE CLONE

  7. Reba

This is so stupidly selfish. Spend 1/12 of the money to save an animal at a shelter from euthanasia.

  8. Heleana Savin

    This is honestly fascinating!

  9. Taunting Sableye

or you could adopt a pet that is in need of your love…

This is stupid and horrible for so many reasons, what the fuck is the point? ITS NOT THE SAME PET the reason people get attached to their pet is because they spend prolonged time together and get to know each other, it'll look the same but that's not what matters. Think of all the surrogate mother dogs/cats that are basically being abused with this. And think of hundreds of thousands of pets who's lives are in danger in shelters in need of adoption, don't breed when you could be giving one of those animals who need it a home.
