Their last album with their original bass player, Peter Quaife. Ray's words are so clever. I like Mick Avory's drumming. Dave always came up with different tones for his guitar every album. His riffing is always catchy. "Do You Remember Walter"- I enjoy the remake also on the "To the Bone" lp. The sheer output of their catalog is phenomenal. Very few acts wrote so much material. Thanks Kinks for all the enjoyment!

If record albums hung in the great museums of the world, #TheKinKs are the Village Green Preservation Society would be the 1st of all records deserving of that honor a #RayDavies masterpiece and prophetic genius work of art and music if ever there was one

  9. Janet Caterina

Love this, the smooth sound of the Kinks without a glitch or a snag anywhere

The last time we heard Pete with the kinks, he’ll forever be missed, wish he stayed around longer, both in the band and in life.

very reminiscent of long, intoxicated walks through the english countryside… adventures in a psychedelic dream of a memory

It's criminal that this album isn't as widely known as one of the classics. It's good from front-to-back

  14. Cliff Carr

Another great band. This song is just brilliant.

  15. John Boland

Wow, awesome album! I must the last guy on earth to realize Green Day totally ripped off 'Picture Book'.

  16. Helene Papageorge

The Kinks were ahead of the times. Maybe Dave was right when he said getting banned from the US might have been the best thing that happened to The Kinks. This album is timeless and thats why its brilliant.

  17. Octavio89

  18. Rob Let
