Although Sydney is one of four dogs I have owned, without question
she was the most special in many ways. Sydney was extremely intelligent
which made communication a breeze. Sydney was so bright, often I needed
to spell something to someone else in order for her not to understand
(car, treat). After a while she mastered that as well. Sydney was also
very athletic and could play ball for hours without hesitation. However,
her most enduring trait was her loyalty and love. When the decision to
put Sydney down was made, I truly felt like I lost a friend, maybe the
most loyal and special friend one could have. As time passes it gets
easier to deal with her loss and having her with me makes it so much
easier. Many might find it strange or difficult to look at her in this
state; however I view it as the total opposite. Having the ability to
touch and pet and reconnect only helps the healing process and
encourages positive memories.
