Without water, a human can only survive for about 100 hours. But there’s a creature so resilient that it can go without it for decades. This 1-millimeter animal can survive both the hottest and coldest environments on earth, and can even withstand high levels of radiation. Thomas Boothby introduces us to the tardigrade, one of the toughest creatures on Earth.

I was not thinking gummy bears I was thinking more of a really weird vacuum bag

You are being lied to. They can only persist in hot, cold, dry, and irradiated. They cannot survive there. They will die eventually. They are cannibalistic, and are predated rapidly. They die in the billions. Another common myth about tardigrades is that they steal DNA, which is entirely wrong, and was a error made by the scientists studying them. This was found to be erroneous ~1 year after its publish date. Tardigrades are pretty much lame living pieces of dust.

If we can use that for us to like hibernate for a long time example : Going to another solar system for thousands of years without food and water…it'd be good for humanity, right?

The tardigrade is actually one if the weakest builds in the game. Sure, it's extreme resistances help it to survive in those exclusive extreme conditions, but if your going to build as a tardigrade then you better be ready for a quick death. This is because they are killed in the millions by the things that are actually a threat to them like snails. I would suggest a much more viable build like the humans, especially in this current meta. For a more detailed guide, watch Tierzoo

  9. Denzel Tupaz

Yeah they're tough. But they cannot survive inside our stomach

  10. eLassie-

    no

  11. Cooper .R

But… If it got hit once it would die.

Edit: Also I don't think it lives long. (without the tounge state)
Also I got this info from a channel called… I guess I will find the channel and edit again.
    Back it's called TierZoo!

Toughest animal until it meets literally other small non-mammalian animal. In which that animal eats the water bear

  15. R.I.P. Bacon Bound

Water bears seam great but they get eaten all the time by almost any animal

  16. Gabrielle Pintor

    thoughest creatures on earth????????????

get killed by a snail in a milisecond

buy guess what whats the point of armmagedon resistance when you can only live for 1 year well i guess it can live for 100 years via cryostacis but in a different stylr so its not really living but what more common getting killed by space a volcano a nuclear war or a grass hopper

  17. TNT Of Ages

but…. snails and those kinds of things kill them by the millions. how often do you need radiation resistance and it doesn't mean they can live in space they will still die it just takes a long time. also you don't need supernova resistance.

  18. star light

    Chuck Norris of animal world

  19. Thao Bui

Well one weakness the things that actually that kill it like if you tap one shot kill so it's basically like apocalypse survivalist

  20. kim cancino
